I had the good fortune of interviewing Dave on episode 10, 227 episodes ago! Dave is the author of Teach Like a Pirate and the president and found of DBC with over 200 EDU speakers and authors. Amazing!  I worked for Dave for 4 years doing website design, maintenance, marketing, narration of a couple books, designing author pages and more. So cool to have Dave back and talk about how relevant and important his Teach Like a Pirate book still is, the impact he has had on education and more! Beautiful episode, with a beautiful human. Love Dave’s positive influence on all things EDU and how he keeps the narrative on EDU super positive and awesome. You’re going to love our interview.

I am excited to share “The” Dave Burgess‘s journey with you! We are going to talk about deeply about how some of the core components of his book, Teach Like a Pirate, are not only still relevant in classrooms today, but how they are saving teacher’s careers from exhaustion, burnout and engagement. An Interview with Jennifer Gonzalez

In this episode, I interview Jennifer Gonzalez, the Editor in Chief, Founder, and Host of Cult of Pedagogy. Cult of Pedagogy is one of the most respected and followed educational resources for teachers available. Cult of Pedagogy is more than just the amazingly well written and applicable posts on her blog, it’s more than her incredible podcast; Cult of pedagogy provides books, videos and other amazing resources to help teachers around the globe, but most importantly it is a community for teachers who love teaching and want to become their best.

Jennifer and I have an amazing conversation about how Cult of Pedagogy came to be, how it has been helping teachers during this pandemic, and we look ahead at the future of education. Jennifer is absolutely brilliant, and we have a lot of fun. Buckle-up.

Jennifer Gonzalez taught middle school language arts for seven years. Half that time was spent in the greater D.C. area, the other half in southcentral Kentucky. She earned National Board Certification in 2004. Then, after having her first child, sheleft teaching to be a stay-at-home mom.

In 2008, She was hired by a local university to teach pre-service teachers. This work gave her new passion for preparing and supporting educators. When Jennifer was in the classroom, shefelt alone in her nerdiness. The teachers’ lounge was never a safe place for her emotionally or intellectually, and finding others to share her real thoughts and feelings with took a lot of work. She learned to stifle the urge to gush about some new strategy She was planning to try or to open up about a struggle She was having with her students. She came to expect that her genuine questions would be met with sarcasm.

With the creation of her site Cult of pedagogy, She hopes to create what shedid not have herself: a vibrant, encouraging, stimulating community of teachers, supporting each other toward excellence. She believes if we can reach across the limits of geography and find each other, there’s no limit to the amazing things we can accomplish.

In this episode of The Wired Educator Podcast, I interview Chrissy Romano Arrabito. She is an amazing educator and author of a wonderful book, Quiet Kids Count. I love this interview for many reasons, but primarily for the incredible conversation Chrissy and I have about so many important areas in education. Chrissy Romano Arrabito is a career teacher and proud of it! She is currently an elementary teacher at Nellie K. Parker Elementary School in Hackensack, New Jersey and has over 26 years of experience as an elementary and middle school teacher.

Chrissy is dedicated to teaching the whole child, stimulating and supporting innovation in classrooms, and strives to provide authentic learning experiences for her students. Her true passion lies in nurturing the quiet kids, those that tend to fall through the cracks, those that truly need a champion to support and advocate for them. An Interview with Mat Pullen: Creator of The 'So You Want To...' eBook Series, Apple Distinguished Educator

In this episode, I interview Mat Pullen, an Apple Distinguished Educator from South Wales, and the creator of the popular ‘So You Want To…’ eBook Series. He will enchant you with his accent and blow you away with his brilliance of all things EDU. He is truly the embodiment of the everyone can create movement in education. I am excited to share my interview with Mat with you!

Mat is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Class of 2013 and is also a senior lecturer in Initial Teacher Education at the University if South Wales. A physical education teacher by trade, and now works closely with future teachers and established educators.

He is passionate about supporting those that education can sometimes leave behind, the ones that just need an alternative way to show what they are capable of accomplishing. 

Finding the true impact of technology back in 2010 with his students, Mat now looks for creativity and problem solving approaches to support his learners and to inspire other educators.

Mat is the author of a successful series of eBooks that are simple yet creative and helpful guides to show you how you can use tech in the classroom.  The ‘So You Want To…” series now has over 30 titles.  Mat is a public speaker, consultant and avid social media sharer, he has just completed his Masters in Innovative Learning with his final thesis on Sketchnoting and the impact on learners.
